    Sir when I put CMOS jumper at first two pin my pc did not start and fan is off and when I put CMOS jumper my pc start but not open bios.my pc shows that CMOS CLEAR press F1 to boot and enter but I press the button and my keyboard is not working.please help me

      Try disconnecting all external input devices except for the keyboard, then try pressing the required hotkey after performing the CMOS CLEAR. If this doesn't work, try using a different type of keyboard following the CMOS CLEAR method (i.e. if you have a USB keyboard connected, try using a PS / 2 keyboard, and if you have a PS / 2 keyboard connected, try using a USB keyboard).

      Streaming video, yes, even UA-cam video, requires a lot of system resources. Sadly your system is not powerful enough to run two UA-cam videos simultaneously.

    THANK YOU! Nice one mate! This worked perfectly for me by: (1) Removing and replacing the CMOS battery (I tested it with a battery life tester and I didn't need a new battery). (2) Moving the CMOS jumper back and forth (I waited 4 mins before putting it back in its original position). (3) Booting from a Win startup/repair CD then, when prompted with the option to do so, loading the 'CMOS default settings'.

    My computer was showing no display, then I Shaw a troubleshooting video on YT and according I disconnected power and long pressed Cpu power button then computer turned on but it freezes after using sometime, can anyone help me ? WHAT to do ? Plz, I will sub you

    • @RodneyDickson
      @RodneyDickson 5 років тому

      The freezing after use can be a multitude of things: the CPU overheating, the operating system being corrupt, the memory being bad, the hard drive having bad sectors, the power supply being faulty, etc. This is how you can test the memory: ua-cam.com/video/YB_lUW1oBSU/v-deo.html Also, Hiren's BootCD has many freeware testing softwares that may shed some light on the issue.

      Getting stuck at the Windows logo sounds like the operating system might have become corrupt. Did you try booting the OS in safe mode? Alternate pressing F5 and F8 repeatedly after booting the PC?

    I am experiencing a strange issue . Some days back I found out that my computer was getting hot and therefore I decided to reapply the thermal paste and replace the stock cooler with cooler master hyper 121 led. I did replace the stock thermal paste ( removed it by 95% Iso propylene alcohol) then applied artic silver 5 compound (pea size method), and finally attached the aftermarket 121 cooler master hyper cooler. Finally checking all things at their place and seated neatly, I booted up the computer , however I did not not got the post beep sound (1 beep) - the CPU fan was running , the GPU fan was running but there was no display on the screen. My motherboard has a built in error code embedded card which showed code 77 error. So, I switched off everything and began to inspect by removing every component one by one , but all in vain , the problem persists. Then after a while , when I was not getting any solution , I reseated every component back again and booted up the computer still no response got code 77. Then I again switched off and tried to again boot up -I did this procedure "on and off" 2 to 3 times - and suddenly out of the blue the computer booted without any error (heard the pleasant 1 post beep sound). Then my computer ran very smooth like no problem occurred at all. Next morning, again the same problem - no boot , no sound , CPU fan running and getting annoying code 77 error . This time I did not opened up the hood however I did switch off then waited for 20 sec. and again boot the computer -got same error - again switched off and boot - got same error, so, I repeated this switch off and boot method for exact 7 times and about ,say, 25 minutes my computer boot without any error, and ran perfectly. I am not getting what actually the issue is. Please please help me to figure out the problem

    i have a qosmio x505 gaming laptop. i always run it without the battery to keep the battery good for only when i use it. one day it shut off on me not running any games or powerful programs. i tried to turn it on and it hums every 2 seconds and blinks a fraction of a second every 2 seconds also in harmony with the hum if i hold the power button. the fans nor hdd wouldnt start. i replaced the video card and ram a year before that so i tried putting the old parts back in. of course it didnt fix the problem. also i tried starting the laptop without various parts for trouble shooting. the charger is a 180w 4 pin adapter. what would you suggest i do? no one has an adapter to use to test the charger where i live...and both the charger and motherboard are over 100....

    PLEASE HELP ME ! My pc had BSOD problem and I looked for solutions ,,Theres a way to clear bios ... to remove cmos battery and move jumper pins ... I removed battery and also took out the jumper and put it long in clr bios 1&2 pin .... and I also moved the other jumper which has 7 pins .... at first it opens and says bios has been reset something like that then I moved the pin again .... now my pc wont turn on anymore ,only power button light and fan and the yellow green light in the plug near motherboard ............. I have 2 jumper on mobo ,one has 8 and other is 7 .... I both moveed it ...

    • @RodneyDickson
      @RodneyDickson 7 років тому

      Are you sure you placed the jumpers back in their initial placements? If so, Do what my video shows: disconnect the power cable, remove the CMOS battery, press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), leave the PC unplugged and in this state overnight, then the next day return the CMOS battery to its socket, power up the PC, and if no beep, then disconnect the power cable, press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), remove one component, power up the PC, and if no beep then repeat (each time unplugging the PC, pressing the power switch to discharge remaining power, removing a remaining component, and then powering up, and this until the PC beeps at boot).If it never beeps, even when you are down to just motherboard, power supply & CPU+fan, one of these remaining components may be bad

    Hello, I tried to update the bios of my Motherboard from ASUS (bad choice). I tried for windows, but the ASUS program said it failed to identify the EEPROM. At that moment the PC was working, but I had the bad idea to restart, now my computer is in the same situation as yours was, but only the motherboard, processor and psu, but not the beep. I have already done the jumper and battery withdrawal procedures to try to return the motherboard's factory settings. What do you think I should do or the motherboard is dead?

    to quickly identify problems...1) look for the light of the motherboard it is in the middle green or yellow.. that has to be lit when powered on..2) look for bulging capacitors..it takes only 1 for not booting at all...look all capacitors small and bigger sizes if they are bulging motherboard is dead..the cap can be replaced unsoded and put a new one and sod it

    Need help please !!! i detected who was the problem in my pc thank to your video. it was graphic card . but before happend this i was just plaing a game and my pc just turned of and i know the reason why cause has happend many times , it was from temperature on my graphic card . i open my gpu graphic card and i saw that was not termal paste in there . is that the reason that my graphic card doesnt work or could be something ealse?? i will be really greatful if you help me :)

    • @RodneyDickson
      @RodneyDickson 7 років тому

      Thermal paste is necessary between the GPU chip and the heatsink. If your graphics card heatsink came factory installed, then there was a substitute to thermal paste between the two (generally a black coloured tape of sorts between the two). Video cards die out with time and after they have been pushed too hard: chances are yours was just due to go, that's all

      If this is new hardware that you are installing on your motherboard (that has not yet functioned on your motherboard), note that matching bus types of video card to motherboard socket (PCI-E for example), matching socket types of CPU to motherboard socket (LGA1366 for example) or matching bus types of RAM module to motherboard socket (DDR3 for example) does not necessarily signify compatibility. If this is the first time you are trying this hardware on your motherboard, there is a chance that this new hardware is not compatible with your motherboard, despite the same bus type and despite the fact that the new parts fit in their respective motherboard socket. Your motherboard manufacturer's website will have a support page dedicated to your motherboard's model, and on this support page should be a compatibility list for such components as video cards, CPUs and RAM modules. Ensure that your new component is certified to function with your motherboard, and if your new component is not present on the compatibility list, then there is a chance that the new component is not compatible with your motherboard.

      disconnect the power cable, press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), and then with tweezers or needle-nose pliers you can rebend these pins in the proper configuration (VERY IMPORTANT: ENSURE THEY ARE NOT LEFT CROSSED AND TOUCHING EACH OTHER) and if this is impossible to do or they break off, you should have another FAN power connector on the motherboard elsewhere that you can use.

      Your problem is the same as that which is shown in the video (this is how some PCs react to this problem). That being said, try what is shown in the video: disconnect the power cable, remove the CMOS battery, short the CMOS jumper pins for 9 seconds then return the jumper cap to its initial position (only if you can find these jumper pins; if not, skip this step), press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), leave the PC unplugged and in this state overnight, then the next day return the CMOS battery to its socket, power up the PC, and if no beep, then disconnect the power cable, press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), remove one component, power up the PC, and if no beep then repeat (each time unplugging the PC, pressing the power switch to discharge remaining power, removing a remaining component, and then powering up, and this until the PC beeps at boot).If it never beeps, even when you are down to just motherboard, power supply & CPU+fan, one of these remaining components may be bad

    Hello...When I start my PC it turns on it gives 2 short beeps with a pause and everything works on in CPU but no display comes.3 out of 5 times this happening what I do when it happens that I clean ram and reset and remove and reset power supply from motherboard and it works after trying many times. and what I recently did before this problem occurred is I changed my PSU with used PSU, my earlier one had 24 pins but the new PSU I mean used one has 20 pins so the other 4 pin separately attached somewhere side. plz tell me who is culprit Ram or Psu...coz before changing my PSU everything was working fine but 2 short beeps with a pause and resetting ram and wires solves the prob many times...so I confused what to do? I have no graphic card just the default one which comes assembled PC with 4 GB ram(2 sticks) Intel motherboard and Intel i3 processor running win10...just a simple CPU 5 yr old

      If everything was working fine with the old PSU and the current one no longer connects in all the required power ports, it sounds like a more appropriate CPU with all the required connectors would be a better choice.

    Hey there, just wanted to share that if you want to turn off the computer using the power switch, you have to hold it down for a few seconds.

      Yep, some PCs will respond to this, some will not, but thanks for the tip.

    just change the power Supply. Over 50% of the time its the Power supply.

    Hey Rodney..... Firstly an awesome job with the video mate....you have put in details to the last mile ..... i tried check each part.... when i removed the RAM and switched - i did nt the single or long beeps, which you get when you switch on the system without the ram or if there is a ram fault. - Is that sign of af aulty RAM ? i checked the SMPS to, the fan seems to be running. I don t have a graphics card - so i'd rule that out. The HD seems to running - rule that out too Did the memory reset option too.. What would you suggest i do next ?

      Beep error codes differ from one BIOS manufacturer to the next. To discover what the beep error code is trying to telling you, discover the manufacturer of your BIOS (available in the motherboard's manual or on the motherboard's manufacturer's website {on the page for your specific motherboard model}) and then look up the frequency and interval of your beep error code on: www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

    Thanks for the info , my friend gave me a HPS laptop with the not turning on issue , he told me it used to work before one day he didn't charge it and after that never turn on again ,the charger works there are no short-circuit or anything of this nature do after watching this video i asume this is the issue since the pc it was never overheated is a shame for HPS to keep making new computers with poor design and durability.

      Indeed. Sadly if what was shown in the video did not work for you, then a new battery will be needed : \

    can you please reply - i have a problem with my pc. it started yesterday when i wanted to plug my Projector with pc.till that time everything was fine but when i connected projector, the projector screen shows all the white to yellow (screen works perfectly but all the white of screen is yellow) I thought it may be projector problem so i connected the cable to my monitor but the monitor too shown the same problem. i though connection may be loose so i changed the cable (same type but another) still got the same problem. then i took my 2nd monitor but still got the same problem. then i completely formatted my pc and reinstalled the windows but still the same problem. Then i bought new VGA cable shown the same problem. Now i tried every VGA cable ( i have 3 including the new one) to my friends computer. the two old cable gave me the yellow color on his pc but the 3rd one (new one) worked normally. so i concluded that it is neither monitor nor cable problem .... am i true ?

      Wow, is that ever a nutty problem! From the sounds of things, I was going to suggest that maybe the discrete graphics board (the 'video card' if you will) has come loose from its socket and needs to be reseated (removed and reinstalled), but given that two of the three cables are giving issues elsewhere, check the cable connector and ensure that you are not bending any pins (or breaking off any pins) upon connecting: this too can result in inaccurate colours being shown. Hope things work out.

      If VLC Media Player cannot access the video stream, your output video will be audio only. If your intention was only to extract audio, you can disable the encoding of the video stream and only encode the audio stream

    I have a HP 8440p. It wouldn't turn on, just gave me the orange 8 blink code... I have tried...almost every known method found on google/youtube and I could not by any means fire up the laptop. As it turned out there was only one way to solve my problem. A NEW battery! Thank you for reading my story ;-)

    I have 4 sticks of RAM, could all be bad at once? There is no post on any of them when I install them one at a time. But there is the one long and two short when there are no RAM sticks installed. And yes the video card is out so there should be a post regarding that AFTER one RAM is installed.

    • @RodneyDickson
      @RodneyDickson 7 років тому

      Could also be the motherboard itself or the RAM sockets. Try booting with a RAM module in a different socket.

    • @RodneyDickson
      @RodneyDickson 7 років тому

      The problem can lie elsewhere, such as the RAM modules, the motherboard itself, the CPU, etc. Continue to try the steps shown in the video: disconnect the power cable, remove the CMOS battery, short the CMOS jumper pins for 9 seconds then return the jumper cap to its initial position (only if you can find these jumper pins; if not, skip this step), press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), Leave the PC unplugged and in this state overnight, then the next day return the CMOS battery to its socket, power up the PC, and if no beep, then disconnect the power cable, press your PC's chassis power button switch (to discharge any remaining power circulating in the system), remove one component, power up the PC, and if no beep then repeat (each time unplugging the PC, pressing the power switch to discharge remaining power, removing a remaining component, and then powering up, and this until the PC beeps at boot).If it never beeps, even when you are down to just motherboard, power supply & CPU+fan, one of these remaining components may be bad

    Hey is there a way to test the CPU and heat sink?

    • @RodneyDickson
      @RodneyDickson 7 років тому

      Sadly CPUs have to be swap-tested on another compatible motherboard. Provided that the CPU is running at normal temperatures under heavy use, then the heatsink is serving its purpose as intended.

    Rodney, thanks for useful info. Help anyone: I have .MXF files (actually mp4, FullHD 1080x1920, recorded with Pro Sony EX1), and want to re-convert so that my Pinnacle 19 could see the files (for some reasons the Pinnacle do not see from one card, but sees from another card the same recording and the same settings. Question, what VLC settings suppose to be set getting the same quality, what bit rate kb / s, video codec and frame rate?? Thank you very much. Vidas Prof.videofoto@gmail.com Lithuania

      Try Tencoder: it has settings that maintains the quality of your original video. ua-cam.com/video/VSqHjHUIbz0/v-deo.html
